Although Henderson is nestled in the beauty of the Piney Woods of east Texas, our city remains accessible to major metropolitan areas. We are located in central east Texas, 20 miles south of I-20, 130 miles southeast of Dallas, 182 miles northeast of Houston and 66 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana. Henderson is 22 minutes (18.1 miles) from East Texas Regional Airport, and 53 minutes (41.7 miles) from Tyler Pounds Field Airport.

Year-round sunny weather in Henderson offers predictably pleasant experiences! Summers are hot in Texas. Bring your flip flops! Winters are typically short, with very little snow and ice accumulation. Henderson offers indoor and outdoor activities throughout the year, so you are sure to find something enjoyable to do.
